If the state takes responsibility for life-altering choices, it can't hold parents responsible for behavior of the child.

If parents don't have the responsibility, some pretty awful children will result.

Bad news, any way you look at it.

Abortion referral puts spotlight on school-based health centers

So let me get this right...

My kid's school won't administer an ibuprofen to her during the school day without a permission note from me, but they can take her to the abortion clinic for an abortion without my knowledge or consent? Something is seriously wrong here and the law needs to be changed. I am writing my representatives in Olympia today.

The mother of the 15-y/o girl from Ballard was on John Carlson's KVI show yesterday. She said she is pro-choice, and knew her daughter was sexually active. Evidently has a good relationship with the daughter and there is a father living in the home...not a broken home. BUT she said the paper she signed did NOT mention abortion as one of the things listed for medical help if needed. The school district (or the school board, I can't remember which) said that to list all the possibilities would have taken too much paper....(roll your eyes, I sure did....)

Who in their right mind would have thought that abortion was one of the items? The school took it upon itself to take the girl to Swedish via taxi, and return via taxi, and sent her home after school The girl was not to mention this to her parents.

The mother was furious....not only for the possible physical problems that might have occurred, but for the emotional damage that was caused.

IMO, things have gotten TOTALLY out of hand with our schools!!!
