Is retirement for the healthy a right? Is this a rich poor issue?I believe like the Economist that there is no natural right to unearned retirement. There is a right to disability retirement and I have no issue if that is 100% subsidized.I feel there is no natural right for someone in the 30% of income to have a subsidized retirement to walk around the beaches of Fort Lauderdale as a healthy person. If he paid for it fine. This is not my decision but a political one and will be answered at the ballot box.We as a society have choosen not to look at the facts, but I believe that will change
As to health care,I see basic health care and catastrophic coverage as a right. The care in the middle should be subject to mkt forces that limit overuse.Again society as a whole will have to decide if they want to spend their entire lives working to earn two extra months of pain at the end of their life
