What happens next is not likely to be pleasant - he under statement of the year. I should add that I question your addition. I think the bailout would be limited to the large bank. The Bank Management would take their bonuses and go off the next scam. The rest would be left to go on food stamps, etc. It might be of interest that one of our Bell Labs Mathematicians, who was making significant contribution to new telecom technology, left in about 2003 and went to Wall Street.
