Thank you. I considered the idea that the bonds have "the debts of the unemployed alcoholics as collateral" to make them equivalent to derivatives but I can't disagree with you. However, while swaps are technically derivatives, to me, they are really insurance policies. I'm probably a little thick this evening, but I don't see them in the same category as Call or Put options.

Perhaps I need a little more education.
