Pay attention. The corporation gets a subsidy from the government (around 28% of their cost). They, of course, get a rightful tax deduction for the cost of the employee benefit. However, they get it on the WHOLE amount, even the subsidy.

So, they're deducting the subsidy amount on their taxes. They are taking money from the government and using it as a deduction.

Good trick. Too bad us normal working people can't do that.
