I know because I have been paying into SS since 1955 - from 1955 to 1972 as an employee and from 1973 to present as a self employed person. I have also paid into Medicare since 1965.

MJ Here is a site that is easy to navigate. It explains Medicare Parts A through D.

I don't have to pay for that, my employer will, but I know many others who do pay 90 to a little more over a hundred for Part B.

Part A has no additional cost if you paid taxes before retirement.

Part C Is a hybrid of Parts A, B and D

Part C of course is the Prescription Program.
