Elroy, i agree - it doesn't make a difference to me or my belief systems.

it is an interesting discussion, though. it is odd, though, that, if true, the extinction rate for what has to be 100s of millions of transitionary entities is 100%.

i'm sure some will argue that kind of concept isn't science, but i think that is cover for not having an answer to a very obvious question.

I never did see the controversy there, or in many of the other issues between religion and science. As a Deist everything can make perfect sense. If the people arguing would make the effort of opening their minds they might see that the two viewpoints don't have to clash. For example, what is wrong with a God who created everything with a set of rules (which man seeks to understand through science), in a different form than today, and gave it the ability to evolve and grow on it's own? I think that is a much more powerful entity than the vengeful feeble minded one of some religions. Additionally, if that entity did a good job building the Universe, there would be no need to watch/maintain it. The entity may not exist anymore, or may be off doing other things as the Universe continues to work on it's own.

OTOH, the viewpoint that everything is as it was initially created, and that man was created in his current form, is just plain wrong. Undeniably wrong, although that won't stop some people from denying it.

The "black and white" thinking is destroying this country. The Church/science and Republican/Democrat arguments are especially destructive in that they prevent people from moving forward.
