Andrew, I was hoping someone else knew of good FCF screens!

The only comprehensive screening system I use is the Telescan Pro-Search platform. It has only one free cash flow indicator -- free cash flow per share. As you noted in an earlier post, one cannot take this number TOO seriously, But for lack of anything else, it's o.k. as a starting point. Then I have been checking out the companies that my Pro Search screens produce by looking up their price/free cash flow ratios in the Market Guide Ratio Comparisons. I then research in more depth some companies that pass this second test.

BUT -- 1) Telescan's free cash flow per share indicator is on the fritz, and I am told it may take at least two more weeks to fix it; 2) you folks (quite rightly) have called Market Guide's numbers into question. I sent MG a query, asking them how they come up with lower price/FCF ratios than price/CF ratios for some companies. As I expected, I have received no response.

SO -- right now I lack even the primitive search mechanism I was using before. I know there are other fancy software search packages out there, but I don't know whether they include any FCF parameters. Does anyone?

Andrew -- where are you? Please rejoin the fray -- oops, the discussion.

Check out posts #170 and #171, where STYK tries to answer the question you posed about FCF margin.
