"I think dumbness sells in the GOP. I think most R constituents aren't too bright themselves and they don't want their leaders to be much brighter. Have you listened to any of the GOP senators speak? Its stunning how stupid and uninformed they are......stunning!" They started by conning the dumb with tax cuts and fear mongering. Then, they were just using America's left end of the normal curve of intelligence for their own political ends serving the wealthy that actually ran the party. Then, they drafted the religious stupid with family values and pro-life positions. At some point, the stupid looked around and said, we ARE the (R) party - let's elect OUR kind. The rest is history.
