Will the insurance of the parents of the twentysomething that has a family out of wedlock??? Or even if the new parents are covered by their respective parents' insurance, which insurance will cover childbirth?

I'll bet the clowns in DC didn't think of this potential situation.

I simply can not imagine marrying any man who maintained his insurance through his parents.

What does that say about his sense of responsibility?

Why would we expect American children (especially those who attend public schools) to actually be able to think for themselves before the age of 27? They must remain dependent for the Nanny state to really work. NG

"postpones adulthood."

Of course it does. And what's magical about 26? I heard someone bemoaning the fact that prior to this the 25 year old had to figure this out on their own. The poor, defenseless 25 year old child. Of course the same can now be said of the poor, defenseless child of 27.

More likely it postpones the Dems losing the youth vote. If young 20-somethings were mandated to pay their own insurance, (rather than have Mom & Dad continue to pay for it), they might consider voting for the GOP.

Right. Maybe Obama would raise the draft age and the minimum age for drinking too. At least be consistent.
