If you still believe the Constitution has meaning, then of course you are right.
But then, in reality we have rule of the mob inflamed by their elected leaders - a true democracy in the worst sense of the word.
So much for the Constitution.

Always thought republic was a form of democracy.. We expect our MP (parliamentarian) to vote as we want... until we've voted a few times and have figured out that it does not work that way.. :O)

Dean Baker writes about this, saying something to the effect that 99% of the phone calls to Congress were against the financial bailout that Paulson pushed through.
