Rome won wars all the way into oblivion
fighting wars is a loser's game
especially when the wars serve no purpose in achieving any object at incredible cost against no particular counterparty without hope of ending
the only reason the team USA has not lost in it's current wars is that even should team USA wish to surrender, there is no one particular counterparty to surrender to
the only reason team USA has not won in it's current wars is that it is not allowed to win
the war, declared to be a 'fly paper' by the wastrels championed by stratfor is exactly that, and team USA is stuck without an out
everytime team USA threatens any substantive players, shoulder fired anti aircraft missiles magically make appearance to do "black hawk down" - iow, there can not be any win in a war where one's unconvinced soldiers are too busy chaperoning, guarding, loading, unloading and burning fuel, when the opposition is all around and collecting tithe on same fuel
Russians are happily transporting USA armored cars on their one way trips
china is busy building roads at exorbitant cost and dealing with mineral rights
Iranians are being naughty whenever it suits them
pakistanis are gorging on profit from right of way safe passage
Indians are feeling secure from team USA focus
each gallon of diesel cost usd 70 by the time it is burnt in afghanistan
and you think there is a remote possibility that team USA can win that war?
Do you mean a win like Iraq is somehow viewable as a win?
Ten victories like Iraq and it would be "game over, player one"
just how naive do you wish to appear?

Pyrrhic victory is a victory with such devastating cost to the victor, it carries the implication that another such will ultimately cause defeat.

'Another such victory and I am undone.'
