Carl and BILLYJEANNE RE: NE estimates The last detailed reports i have on Noble are outdated (i would think estimates are higher now) Schroders dated July 18, 1997.'97= $1.12, `98= $2.17, `99= $3.25 The 15 page report is full of good news for the sector and details why NE's plan is good: "The worldwide market for offshore rigs has strenghtened considerably over the past 30 months, with utilization currently at 95%.... By 2000, it is estimated that 35% of production will be offshore. this growth is driving the significant improvement in offshore drilling, resulting in rising dayrates for nearly every class of offshore rig..... NE is in a strong position having an "inventory" of rigs that can be upgraded or modified to generate significantly higher cash flow and returns than these units are currently generating. This will enable NE to continue to grow its earnings and cash flow beyound that which can be driven by market conditions..... Additionaly, this inventory puts NE at a competitive advantage over other contractors for whom newbuilding is the sole option for fleet expansion.... the center piece of this plan is a program to convert its fleet of submersible rigs into semi-submersibles." Smith Barney report dated August 4, 1997:`97= $1.15, `98= $2.15 "We believe that Noble's peak earnings per share can approach $6.00, a figure which assumes just five EVA-4000 conversions." Dayrates for the semi-subs estimated between $115,000 and $140,000. Both of these reports are long and very detailed. Everyone should get them (i should get more current ones). RE: Vectorvest i wouldn't invest any money solely based on a computer generated report, but most of the ones i've seen seem pretty reasonable (and some don't make any sense at all ). i just like to post the ones that value my stocks 30% above their present price. <G> Best wishes
