Thanks to conservatives once again for vehemently opposing the public option.

You're blaming the wrong thing, methinks. That would not have made a dent if it was any improvement at all. It was for a minority of people and the most you could have saved within that group would have been the cost of profit. The big savings are in broadly applied rationing and squeezed payment schedules. Medicare, Medicaid, and the non-employer insurance buyers can yield only so much.

Well, the GOP also opposed allowing the government to negotiate for volume discounts. So it's kind of funny that the GOP opposed the major cost cutting propositions and now they are saying this bill doesn't go far enough to cut costs. Again, the hypocrisy of the GOP is amazing to behold.
