That IS the issue.

Not the issue in the statement you replied to (and even quoted right before the reply).

If I said "Obama's deficits are the highest in terms of GDP in US history", and you (correctly) pointed out that we had higher deficits in WWI and much higher in WWII, and I replied "the issue is Obama's deficits not FDR's, I would be arguing in a similar fashion to your recent post.

I said a lot of the increase in deficit was because of increases mandated under previously passed laws. You asked what laws. I told you the entitlements. You then talk about a specific two year period. Neither "Previously passed laws" nor "when Democrats where in power" are limited to any two year period. In fact the former implies the laws where from before that period (and also from before Bush became president).
