Joe, I just don't know what the deal is with Oracle. I've been looking into buying some stock in that company for about six months, and nothing I can see right off the bat points to anything but sunny skies for Ellison et. al. for the near future. And speaking of Ellison, I've been incredibly intrigued with him ever since seeing him in "Triumph of the Nerds" a couple years ago. Here's a guy with a vision and utter disdain for anything that doesn't conform to that vision. Gotta love it.

The idea that Oracle folks might be selling stock to buy Apple is kind of funny/sad, and it surprises me that a company like Oracle wouldn't be able to take the purchase of Apple in stride. I doubt we'll see an outright purchase of Apple, though.

All this speculation until Monday. Man, it's enough to drive a fella nuts. I'm looking forward to reading the news out of Cupertino this afternoon, as I imagine you are.

Good luck to you today, Joe.
