No, I wasn't changing the topic. The topic was debt and deficits. Staying on that topic the most important sub issue is entitlements because they are the biggest contributor to spending, debt, and deficits.

Except he didn't. The "$5tril surplus" is a fantasy.

Again the wars, the tax cuts (even with static analysis and esp, if you consider people's responses to different tax rates), and Part D, simply don't add up to $10tril. The rise in the deficit is mostly about spending increases, some of which where for the wars, or Part D, but the biggest part of which where increases in previously existing entitlements.
