I had Smartest Guys in the Room on - seems like a different universe. Criminals put in jail - albeit belatedly. Criminal excesses punished - sort of. Flash forward. Excessive risk, failure, and fraud rewarded with second chances on the taxpayers' nickel. Basically, IMO, in early 2000 - 2001, a few criminals couldn't run the show. 7 years later, the criminals and incompetents outnumbered the few honest people in government (not sure who they are), and we are where we are with no change in sight. Total bummer.
