For some reason, I haven't thought much about floods in the NE...Snow, Blizzards, Ice, etc but really bad floods...? The pics you showed from 1992 looked to be a mess...water up to the door handles on the cars....Bet that took a long time to clean up! Loved your story of your ole' house on the hill...the good ole' days where the contractors could do what was needed, not what the regulators said they had to do...(regulators =who usually hadn't ever built a thing in their lives) Do you use steel shelves to keep things above the water line? Gads...looks like in RI you'd have to stack things on the ceiling to keep them dry.... How are your neighbors liking their new ball and chain....Obamacare?
