You prove my point. You and the GOP refuse to meet the Democrats halfway. The strategy of always swinging for the fences means that you and your party will always lose 90% of the battles. In a Democracy, consensus building and compromise is essential.

So you got some, but not all drilling, and it's delayed from the Bush era proposal. That's something. Be grateful, because you could have gotten nothing.

So the next step needs to be for the GOP to identify the things they are willing to compromise on to get even more access to choice drilling spots. Or you can continue to be intractable and swing for all or nothing and the high probability is that you will get nothing.

Being a pragmatist and centrist, I want the all of the above approach, so I really hope the GOP will see fit to compromise, because we need to drill more. And yet, the Dems will not open up more drilling unless they get something in return.

So what will the GOP give back in return? Can you answer that question? At least try.
