The best soap opera in town continues.....read.......macosrumors.com Wednesday, Nov. 5th, 10:49 AM Eastern (updating) Apple Board of Directors meeting today.... According to a reliable Apple source, the company's executive board arrived at the board room less than an hour ago, each member coming in seeming happy and good-spirited -- with the exception of Steve Jobs himself. What this means isn't clear, but the subject at hand -- getting the board's support for the goings-on planned for next Monday, November 10th, and the Apple "Event" -- may have some bearing on it. According to the most recent reports out of Cupertino, Jobs has some quite major plans for Apple on the 10th -- but nothing's final until he gets the board's O.K....and that could prove a bit more difficult that Jobs originally suspected. Regardless, the Board is expected to continue its meetings throughout the day and most likely into tomorrow. What they decide could have incredible repurcussions not only for Apple, but for the future course of computing -- a lot more rides on the outcome of these meetings than most Apple-watchers suspect. We're still seeking confirmation of a very promising rumor submitted by one reliable source....if you have any tips, hearsay, or hard information on the November 10th "Event," don't hesistate to contact us. The Nov. 10th satellite broadcast will be on satellite Telstar 5, Transponder 9, Frequency 11898 vertical. [Thanks, Macintouch] Connectix releases Speed Doubler 8 updates.... Call for rumors: Lucent/Apple partnership? A series of teaser TV ads recently viewed on the major networks feature Lucent Technologies' trademark "typist" hinting at "new departures" the company is about to take (with no hard information), and the ad appears to hint strongly at some kind of Apple involvement; it begins with a distinctive Macintosh start-up tone, and several readers suspected the monitors the ad displayed were AppleVision models. Although this could all be coincidence -- Lucent may have been vaguely hinting at something totally different, and the crew who filmed the commercial may just have had Mac hardware handy -- or it could be more than that. That's why we're seeking any and all input; if you've heard anything about any potential partnership between Apple and Lucent Technologies, drop us a line! ÿ ÿ
