Blame is a means of preventing future relapses. It is the stated policy of the Republican party to have less regulation, more 'free market' economics, and less oversight of corporations. The Bush years have shown how disastrous this policy is. A healthy amount of oversight and regulation IS needed, because corporations how shown that they will act in their own short term self interest. The deniers who claim that these policies are not to blame are setting the stage for the next financial disaster.
