The good news is that employment rose by 162,000 jobs last month, with about 48,000 of those
being census workers and another 82,000 coming from the birth/death ratio, a way of guessing
how many new businesses are started. The birth/death ratio is eventually squared up when we get
real statistics, but it will be several years before we know the true picture. So, while the headline
is good, the reality is not quite as good.
But let's take what we can. The direction is positive, and it should get better over time
