Very true. I used to think of Muslims as exotic and couldn't wait to travel around the Middle East. After 9/11, I now have a very negative view of them that I just can't shake. Otherwise, I'm a pretty open and tolerant person. I'm sure you are correct in saying that my attitude should change. But I'm also sure that if I were in charge and the chips were down, I'd send the order to attack Iran before letting them have the bomb. The stakes are just too high to trust them with the bomb, given Muslim hatred of Americans.
