Yes, many of the old terrorist groups - Black Panthers, SDS, etc - were extreme leftists - in the 60s and 70s. Now, the majority of groups with terrorist actions are right wing: McVeigh, the Waco Wackos, the Hutaree and militias, the bozo who flew his plane into the IRS, and probably the anthrax guy. But, I say, throw them all in the same cell - anti-government wackos and animal rights bombers. But, the biggest internal threat to life and limb is the McVeighs/Hutarees, whose anti-government fanaticism is spurred on by right wing hate media.
