What law gives you the right to pass on your genes to another generation?

I think the disconnect here is semantics. In some instances governmental operation and moral justice may coincide, but they are separate issues. What the founders tried to conceptualize in the most basic sense was a code of ethics that all people share and everyone's right to be treated as a human being.

As for education, it was all done in California. Undergrad at UC Berkeley.

That clears a lot up for me.

Food Stamps are administered at the Department of Agriculture. If you live with somebody else, label all your pots and pans and keep them separate so the food stamp examiner will not combine your lack of income with your room mate's check.

I know because my wife was once a food stamp examiner. She examined people who made twice as much as we did on an annual basis but held seasonal employment and qualified for food stamps in the off season.

We never got food stamps even though we qualified. We did not need them.

Once we ran a little short and raided our savings account to buy hamburger. The people in front of us at checkout had two carts. One, loaded with steak, they paid for with food stamps. The other, loaded with beer, they paid for with cash.

I doubt the USDA has a food stamp office in the Philippines.

Most Americans (I hope) concur with the view of the Declaration that rights are endowed on mankind by our maker and the proper purpose of government is to secure and defend those rights. The difference in outlook between thinking God endowed us with our rights and thinking government did may be philosphical but I think its important. It means government is not to be our master and our rights properly aren't just whatever it decides to give us.

As for education, it was all done in California. Undergrad at UC Berkeley.

You know, you're really confirming some stereotypes there.

No wonder the paragraph above seems to be a new concept.
