One thing I've noticed is that the GOP and members on these threads who are typically associated with the GOP are fighting tooth and nail to not be associated with the Tea Party.

I find that humorous. It tells me two things:
1) They recognize that the Tea Party is a liability because of their extremist behavior.
2) They don't want to be associated to it and they know that since the Tea Party consists mostly of GOP members, that they are in real danger of being associated.

The more the GOP fights against it, the more it sticks to them. This may be one of the issues that crucifies the GOP in November.
