If we're talking worldwide, I think CNN is available to many, many more households than that. But we're really looking for the American viewership, right? And 25 percent of what public? Looks like Fox News Channel averages 2.3 million viewers a day: multichannel.com Fox News tallied its best first-quarter performance in its history, averaging 2.3 million viewers in primetime during the period of Dec. 28, 2009 to March 28, 2010, according to a Disney-ABC Television Group analysis of Nielsen Media Research. -Z

Granted, I should have fact checked him. Everyone knows wingnuts are mis-informed.

Fact is, most Americans don't watch the cable news: tvbythenumbers.com "Sarah Palin’s Real American Stories performed modestly for Fox News on Thursday night. Its 2.073 million viewers and 472,000 adults 25-54 dwarfed the competition, but compared to On the Record with Greta last Thursday at 10pm, there was nothing special about Palin’s ratings. Last Thursday Greta averaged 2.3 million viewers and 654,000 adults 25-54. Whether it was the upcoming Good Friday and Easter holiday, TV viewing was down a bit in general and all the broadcast networks took it on the chin. Palin’s lead-in, Hannity had 2.256 million and 526,000 adults 25-54, and at 8pm O’Reilly averaged 2.98 million viewers and 653,000 adults 25-54. Palin’s closest competition at 10pm was Anderson Cooper who averaged 820,000 viewers and 190,000 adults 25-54." American population: 305 million
