>>We've spent 60 years+ in a nuclear face off with the Russians and Chinese and neither side has been crazy enough to actually use them against one another. Our rivalry is restrained sufficiently that no side desires a conventional war, let alone a nuclear exchange, in advancing our respective interests.

That will not be the case if Militant Islamists obtain them.<<

You seem to be a general in the mold of GW. Concentrate on the middle east and let Russia and China get stronger as we fight those stupid rush wars.

And to make things worse Bush put us 2 trillion in debt to the chinese orrowing th emoney to fight in Iraq. that was real smart! Not.

You seem to have trouble evaluating risk. We came very close to global thermonuclear war during the Cuban missle crises.

Very close.

And statisticians have claculated if we keep the missles sooner later they will be used.

All it takes is one crazy person. People can get crazy overnight. Lucky Cheney didn't do it.

If that nuclear war with Russia had happened civilized life on earth would have ended.

Bin Laden can only hurt us a little not kill us all.

A nuclear war with China or Russia would kill us all. If either one gets a quantum computer efore we get quantum encryption we are in big trouble as they can reak all our codes.

Think GW worried about that? It is like who got the atomic bomb first and what GW should have been working on..

Hawk - you must have missed the reaction we got from merely planning to build a missile base on Russia's border. Let's go for broke and build a dozen or so "enduring bases" inside Russia and China, as we have in Iraq and Afghanistan. Curious what their reactions might be.

Oh... I do worry about them..But not nearly as much as I do about a group of religious fanatics who have few qualms in using WMDs against us the minute they manage to obtain them
