Z, to a degree you still believe in the issues.

Many liberals have fallen for the personality cult. The issues don't matter to them, as long as "The One" is in charge.

Look at Don Hurst, for example. He brings up the F-35 only to pester conservatives like me:

Unfortunately for him, I want that useless program cancelled. But Obama and the Democrats won't do it. When asked why not, Don acts like a fifth grader to avoid answering the question.

I see Don is still bringing up the F-35:

What a maroon. And plenty of libtards out there are the same way. Especially those hack jobs at the NYT, Paul Krugman and Maureen Dowd ...

"Nope. I'm very much against them on this one."

They have a tough problem on their hands. Smirk did a wonderful job of upsetting several balances that we were using to reduce chances of major problems. He took Iraq off the table, and that totally changed the dynamic in the Middle East. The only two winners there were Iran and Israel. Both of whom will be expanding their influence in the region. Afghanistan was totally mis-handled. If we had done what we said we were going to do, which is kick out the Taliban and stabilize the country, it would have been different. But we only sort of kicked the Taliban out and we never stabilized the country. The result is that Pakistan in on the edge of collapse and that has many ramifications. Pakistan has some nasty technology that control could be lost over. For the long term, without Pakistan, India is no longer checked and doesn't have to be as solicitous of US interests interests in the region. At some point they will bump up against China. The nightmare scenario is China and India banding together to challenge the domination of the US. And that could mean trouble in 15-20 years.
