ZANE is having another nice spike today.<g>

bigcharts.marketwatch.com

The spike in March was when it sponsored the CIO Healthcare Summit and commented on how it will utilize technologies to build the Clinical Online Delivery System (CODS) software solution for St. Vincent Health.

CODS was developed for hospitals who are as yet without a fully deployed electronic medical record system, and it serves as a "bridge" strategy to CPOE (Computerized Physician Order Entry).

I went with my wife at a local physician's office last week and noticed some of his assistants helping elderly "new" patients to enter information on an "electronic tablet" in the waiting room. That information was entered before on a paper form.<g>

The CODS software package reportedly performs three main functions:

1. Allows the hospital to set up, maintain and update standardized order-sets centrally and conveniently for the entire hospital system.
2. Allows physicians and other prescribers to use these up-to-date order sets from any internet connected computer, either at the office or at home, and prescribe medications and tests in an easy-to-use point-and-click manner without the disruption to workflow that a full EMR would cause.
3. Allows management to evaluate prescribing patterns in their hospitals and update according to the latest guidelines and local practices.

While visiting friends at hospitals, I have been impressed on how the computers are taking over more tasks in the last ten years since I retired.<g>

ZANE traded earlier today above its March 8 H of $3.57

There is no ACTAY. The insiders reportedly hold > 50% of the stock. ZANE has a large LTD and negative CF.<g>

But with the newer mandates for electronic medical records under Obamacare, and some good news on the bottom line, the stock could get to tes the resistance above $4 and even the $6 level.<g>
It announced today a record of new orders on the 1stQ.<g>

Last week it announced results of a PI of PA65020, its combination of enteric-coated aspirin and immediate-release omeprazole, which showed significantly reduction on the incidence of GI mucosal damage vs. enetric coated aspirin alone.

Earlier this month the stock had traded above $12 after it anounced that the FDA had approved VIMOVO, its naproxen and esomeprazole magnesium delayed-release tablets for of osteoarthritis, RA, and ankylosing spondylitis.

The stock is trading again above $9 but what was previously support is now a good amount of resistance at the $10 level.<g>

POZN was able to trim some its loss on the 1stQ in spite of lower revenues.
The EE for 2010 & 2011 are around $0.03 & $0.24 on the black vs. the loss of $0.25 last Yr.

The ACTAY is $11.75 It seems that with some good news the stock could trade again above $12 <g>
