longnshort, I've refrained from commenting too much on the Muslim issue because I am less informed, but you may want to be careful not to be like the hate mongering liberals that cry about tolerance, but tolerate no one else. Yes, there is a lot of violence by Muslims against Jews, Christians, and other non believers around the world. But not all Muslims are bad people. I have dealt with many good Muslims in NY and I am sure there are hundreds of millions of others. You don't crucify an entire religion for the actions of some within it. But there is a more important lesson in all this. A percentage (call it X) of Muslims have a belief system that is very similar to liberals and the religious right here in the US. They think they know what is best for everyone and have no problem mandating everyone else going along with them. Whether it is religion or economics it is always intrinsically wrong and immoral to take away the freedom of others and mandate your point of view on them. You can try to make your case and hope to eventually swing most of society in your direction (both honestly and in an unbiased fashion of course), but IMO mandating or using violence is immoral unless it is in self defense.
