Thanks. I will have to look at those companies. I scan for stocks I'm following, in the WSJ, Seeking Alpha, and I like the AltEnergy site.

Great post. FSLR's 34% profit margin among all the losers just jumps out at me on the first graph. SPWRA on top of my silicon list is also making a profit although puny. GT was one I don't follow but I guess I should.

On the Fool list I think I'm pleased to see AMSC is listed with one star. I wonder why, I'm hoping because investors don't understand the company.

I'm also pleased to see STR is not listed, a company I'm also interested in because I think it's overlooked. They make solar encapsulants. What the heck is that? He he. Protects electrical systems which when you think about the abuse solar panels take is pretty important.

Two others not listed:

ITRI - smart grid meters
CRUS - smart grid ADC DAC chips

At this point, with oil pushing up, my guess is FSLR or and the silicon assemblers would jump first. But long term the sleepers might do well.
