You'd have to project into the future...and they'd be high...but don't play like repubs are so innocent...in the last 30 years they have been the guiltiest at debt, all the while accusing the dems. As Obama pointed out in his "town hall" last week, you cannot touch America's debt problem without solving the problems of what? Medicare and SS. Both liberal programs started under liberal administrations. These programs are killing the country. NOT Republican spending. Liberal spending. All the debt incurred as a result of Republican-led spending is insignificant compared with the debt created by these two programs alone. In eight years -- if he isn't fired -- Obama will double the national debt of all presidents before (SS & MC excluded). I would also point out that the deficit reduction of the 90s was principally a result of Gingrich's "Contract with America" and the Clinton tax cuts.
