It is some of each. Jim McDermott and Patty Murray types are supportive. Some of the kids who haven't lived long enough to earn their own way are as well. Many of the people who are ner'do'wells are simply ignorant. But, not so ignorant as to not know enough about how to put their hands out for more and more help from anyone they can make feel sorry for them (think panhandlers here).... Most of us help anyone we can who is truly down on their luck, and need a temporary hand to get back on their feet. But for the people who continually think that everyone else owes them a living, most of us have nothing but contempt. And for those who think that Socialism, Communism, Marxism, and any of the rest, I wish we could ship them to one of those countries for a few years, and let them learn to appreciate what we have in the Great US of A!!!
