I agree with you.
One problem I see with holding physical gold is that if whole system collapses owing to a run on physical gold ,few people are going to have money to buy our gold.We'll be reduced to bartering silver dollars for bread-fanciful but not impossible.We cant really eat gold.Best scenario for us would be a partial collapse like when the sub prime deflated , but there is a stronger chance this time of a more complete collapse of the already weakened system.
I still believe it is prudent to have a gold bar or two buried where no one else knows.
