It is a mistake to expect leadership from politicians. It's just not their nature. Private citizens have got to do the heavy lifting and if we're successful the politicians will follow.

We do need true conservative thinkers and leaders.

We don't need Republicans.
We do need true conservative thinkers and leaders. It doesn't matter what flavor they come in.

We need voters capable of determining who is a conservative versus one who pretends to be one.

We need voters who don't go back to sleep after retaking the Congress.

We need voters who will vote for a presidential candidate that places national security, economic security and the protection of our Constitution and Bill of Rights above all else. We need voters who carefully consider the candidate's past record on these three issues.

A tall order for the voters.

need true conservative thinkers

They already exist.
What is lacking is working majorities in Congress.
Having "thinkers" is nice - but a Congress full of democrats don't care about our "thinkers" - we need legislative voters since Congressional decisions are made by taking votes, not just by thinking conservative thoughts.

The problem with Republicans taking both houses of Congress in 2010 is that it may shift power enough to allow Obama to gain a second term. The other problem is if not Republicans will be solidly in power after 2012.

Abuse of power is sure to follow.
