Currently, the mail participation rate for the 2010 census is 63 percent

I asked my mailman why I haven't received a census form. He told me that he was informed that our entire community won't receive forms in the mail and would instead be counted door to door by census workers.

What a waste of time and money. Probably just more "make work" to pad the employment numbers.

A couple of Brazilian guys working in my yard showed up the other day wearing new white hats with a "US Census 2010" emblem. They told me they got them at their church. The emblem had some Spanish or Portugese writing at the bottom of the crest, including the name of the church. The priest told them the hats were from the government.
