Steve, I get tired of repeating the same thing to Mindmeld. If energy independence is our goal, we should be drilling for more of our own oil and exploiting more of our own coal resources. This should be in conjunction with a renewed push toward alternative energy sources.

A combination of dirty grunt work (coal mining, oil drilling) and new shiny technology (hybrid cars, solar and wind, hydrogen economy) is a proven formula for success in just about any area, especially energy independence. But libtards are too easily impressed by shiny things.
