We have those here now. Few years back we had a dry summer and the aphids went nuts in breeding. More food meant more beetles. Came the fall and when the beans were harvested and the aphids gone those beetles went to town looking for meat. Clouds of them. I saw one woman in a parking lot rip her blouse off because so many had gone down her neck.

That's those Japanese beetles. They were brought in as a biological control and got out of hand. They look like ladybugs but they bite. They are awful.

Visiting in Ohio, we were continually smelling something like cooking food in the bedroom. Turned out it was those Japanese beetles getting roasted in the ceiling lamp.
