I'm not a very active trader (maybe 5 trades/month) but don't want to pay high commisiions. I now trade via OLDEat 40$/100s shares. If you only trade stocks and don't need stops for NYSE/AMEX then you should go for it. There are no extras like checking, research, etc. but you get fast trades with instant updates at a low cost. What ai really need is real-time quotes and relatively cheaps commissions. Datek's quotes are fast and you can rely on bid/ask. Other fields get messed up from time to time in the morning.
