<government isn't about providing services> Lets see, we spend $500 billion on farm subsidies, $500 billion on arming ourselves to the teeth and sending troops all over the world, and we have trillions in debt in no small part because of these two spending habits along with spending cuts that have been going on for many uears now -- but what do people around here moan and groan about all day long? People waste their breath moaning about how the salaries of grade three teachers are destroying the country and how the pension benefits of policemen are bankrupting the US -- pure hogwash issues. This serves the real pigs at the trough just fine thank you very much -- and to the farm subsidies and war mongering we can add 'banking'.

When over a trillion dollars a year goes into corn subsidies and war making, and when the best we can do is invite people to a 'tea party' where people say silly things about how the answer to our problems is to stop paying taxes and cut the pay of school teachers and police, then you are going to go deeper and deeper into debt and at the same time see cuts in the services that matter.
