I don't think I'll be snapping up any GM stock when it goes public.

Ford still makes a good truck from factory that does not need a bunch of add ons like my Toyota did. When our company F350 diesel came off lease I returned it and offered a few thousand less than the lease buy-out. The lease guy said the buy-out is X amount of $ and there is NO negotiation. I gave him the keys and a check for $1100 for being over the allowed mileage and walked across the street and got a Toyota.

I kept the key fobs for the command start and every night when I drove by the dealership would fire the Ford up. Amazingly even during -40 below you would see the lights come on and a big puff of smoke from the back lot. I did this religiously for about 3 months until she sold.

My favourite truck was an old beat-up '77 Chev pick-up. It was purple where there was still metal left and none of the gauges worked and the gas tank leaked but it would always start.

Me too. I still drive my Dodge RAM, but I've had failures underway with no warning, and also with our Chrysler New Yorker.

Three failures for each vehicle while underway on the freeway. One minute going 65, the next, clunk.
