Mark I would not be surprised if major banks suffer staggering losses someday if not already. these derivatives are an accident waiting to happen. Mike

I wonder if those investors unconcerned about Asian declines and any
resulting impact on consumer spending, computer demand, chip demand
and semi-equipment demand have begun to factor in a lessening in
demand from Europe. Or doesn't that matter either???

FWIW I have further reduced my equity exposures and now am net
short.

BTW be careful when talking about banks, losses, rumored losses etc.
Qualification of your opinion is important since I believe it is still illegal to spread rumors about banking failures and bank runs.
I personally am not worried about such things but am just looking
for a 10 to 25% correction in the DJIA. BWDIK.
