Al, I guess the Civil War was an example of good vs. evil, right vs. wrong. Decades of negotiating between legal slavery and abolition went nowhere (even during Lincoln's first term), mainly because it ultimately made no sense to "negotiate" the basic rights of a human being.

Too bad that in this post-modern age, the very concept of good vs. evil is considered obsolete. Terrorists could bring down skyscrapers, yet many people still won't call them "evil." Or they think said terrorism can be negotiated away. How do you negotiate with those whose starting point is your death?

I guess it's difficult for you folks to imagine that the losing side what on the WRONG side of the issues, and that the consequences of that position is deeply offensive to the black community (at the very least)....

This is a downright bizarre attitude. It is as though, because the South lost the Civil War, 150 years later you think we're some kind of second-class citizens.

I've got news. I never was a racist. I never supported slavery. Nobody in my family ever did. And if they had they would have been dead many years ago.

But we still have our history and our heritage. The racists are those who demand we forget it all.
