…(which I thought might die down here once the bill passed, but that doesn't seem to be the case <ggg>)...

Perhaps that, in and of itself, speaks volumes.

Unfortunately, most of it falls on deaf ears and blind eyes, don't you think?

I simply differ with you on this

You haven't addressed the question other than to say that you differ. On what do you differ and do you have any basis for doing so?

which I thought might die down here once the bill passed

I thought it might, too. But it seem like there are partisans with generic hostilities who feel lost without something to fight about. I resisted going off topic for a while but got sucked in.

Our topic really isn't off topic. HCR has expanded the scope of the takers. We're now subsidizing families with incomes in the $80Ks. (While penalizing seniors at that level.) So there are more hands out and fewer hands to feed into the kitty. I did some calculations a year or two ago about what percentage of the population earns enough to be net contributors is you took the health care proposals into account. I don't recall the exact percentage of net non-contributors but it was more than 80%. How long do you think a country can survive if less that 20% are subsidizing the rest and the rest vote?
