I don't much care for Milton. And I don't consider the govt to be sticking it to us. I consider that my grandparents, who were lifelong dirt farmers, got a lil SS when they got too old to work, not that my Papa ever got too. He was farming at 84... but then he died, and granny got a about 300 dollars a year to keep her going. I'm grateful for that. you get close enough, you give a call. been awhile since I taken anyone on 'the tour'. I'd enjoy it. oh, and as to 'improving themselves'. I thought being a farmer was something to be proud of? improving themselves? in what way? don't bother to answer. there was a time in America when having a small farm was something to proud about and to make a living from. not any more. and not according to the Marvin's of the world. improving themselves? my grandparents were educated and made sure their children became educated. I think you idea of 'improving' means better paying jobs.
