Income tax vs paying for healthcare...

Income tax and Medicare tax, I agree, are not the same thing. But the concept of the rich paying a penalty and determining at what point one is considered rich enough to be required to pay it are the same.

Bear in mind that most of those paying a penalty for Medicare benefits already payed more in payroll taxes. You don't have any trouble soaking them again on their benefits but you wouldn't increase the income tax on folks at the same level?

[I wonder if those advocating Medicare For All anticipated means-testing it and how they might react were that to happen down the road.]
