That would be my slant on it. Sandisk & Seimens really pushed this Press Conference - 3 seperate notices. Lots of folks may have expected a quick earnings punch. Seems like Eli may have been truthful about 1st half '98. The product won't go to market til 2ndQ '98.

I agree with Mauro - enormous "future" potential. I think the price will slowly rise through this quarter. Maybe a nice bump around COMDEX and then we get ready for 4th Q earnings. Should be up with increased royalty and maybe Eli will say something optimistic for a change.

The other thing I am curiuos about, is where were all the other big
flash players during these discussions. Does this announcement really
mean that SNDK has, once again, scooped INTC, AMD and the rest of the
flash industry?

Any reason why the new format, MMC, could not be used in cameras as
well? It seems that this new format addresses some of the issues, ie
small number of pins, that Sony's new Memeory Stick does.
