You are correct, but I felt he gave useful answers both times. However, the statements about business being "fine" and about next year being "better than this year" were certainly non-committal enough, and I agree that the questions you suggest would have been interesting, although it would be unusual to hear CNBC go into that much detail. Also, I think one problem was that they were hurrying because the President was supposed to speak any minute.

FYI he sais verry clearly that amat was fortunate in that the industry was requiping ("smaller he said"), and liked where they were positioned.
